Haemoglobin Level Has Come Down Due To The Intake Of Aspirin. History Of An Attack. Can We Stop Aspirin?
My mother suffered an attack in June 2010 and had stent . she is taking aspirin since then. her haemoglobin was low so we stopped her aspirin for the last two weeks. Its still 11.1. can we stop the aspirin for 3 more weeks to raise haemoglobin to 12, the desired level. Is it safe to do that. Please answer.thanks 11 May 2013
It is not safe to omit aspirin, unless absolutely necessary... Was it confirmed that the haemoglobin level is due to aspirin? If so, it is due to bleeding – occult or overt from the Gastro intestinal tract. Was the stool examined? Did the smear and serum iron show? Is she given proton pump inhibitor? Is she also on clopidogrel? Discuss with your treating doctor...
