Finger Experienced Electrocution, Arm In Pain, Have Headache. What Does It Mean?
Hi Dr.
I got electrical shock today at work, accidently touched the wired amp with my finger and right the way I remove my hand and I felt that schock. My finger and my arm is still hurting, it feels like I just got burned. What should I do, do I have to report to my supervisor? What will happen later in tired future? I do have a headache right now and it's kind a burning too. Please help doc. Thank you.
Hello, You did have an electric shock but no burns. You just have burning sensation and pain. It is because the nerves were stimulated with high voltage shock, if you do not have any obvious injury at the site of contact then you should not worry. Even if there is some wound at the site, a simple first aid cleaning and dressing would do unless the wound is big enough. However for occupational safety you should report your supervisor so as in future this kind of accident should not happen and safelty measures could be taken. Headache seems an independent event as there was no injury to head. Just take a paracetamol tablet for you headache and eat something. You should be fine. If the pain persists for more than 1-2 weeks see a physician. Hope your query is answered. Take care. Regards.
