Exposed To Hand, Foot, And Mouth Viurs, Bumps On Mouth, Chapped Lips
I have been exposed to hand foot and mouth virus from my grandchildren and my son who is 34 also had it. I only have bumps in my mouth not the ulsers. feels like I have eaten something really salty. my lips feel chapped. No fever nothing on hands or feet. Have had this for 6 days. No sore throat. How long will this last and is this really it?
Hand foot and mouth disease is most commonly seen in children though it can present in some adults as well.It is caused by a virus.
It would normally present with fever and a red rash on the hands and feet. This rash can become small blisters. Mouth ulcers also occur, these can be painful. In most persons the illness lasts for a week.
Some persons may not have all of the symptoms associated with the disease.
It is possible since you were exposed that your symptoms are related to hand foot and mouth disease.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic, this means treating specific symptoms such as paracetamol for pain, using mouth washes to reduce any discomfort in the mouth.
I hope this helps
