Hi,

You are describing what is often called a vascular migraine. These are a type of migraine in which you frequently can feel pulsations in the blood vessels. Often people feel these pulsations in there temple regions or forehead but you can feel the vascular pulsations really anywhere on the head.

Generally, even without treatment these symptoms tend to dissipate after several days and usually only require OTC medications like Ibuprofen, however if severe enough prescription medications like Imitrex can also be used. If this continues to be an issue with more frequent occurrences then there are a number of preventative medications that you can consider such as Topamax to diminish the frequently and intensity of the headache.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
