My Mother in law is having high resolution Ultrsound and impression are Hypoechoic SOL noted in upper middle quadrant of the right breast with ill defined margins and also axilliary lymph node seen in right axilla. What does this mean? Is it related to BC?
A hypoechoic SOL in breast with irregular margins must be evaluated completely including pathological tests to rule out a cancer. The presence of axillary lymph node may be indicative of a neoplastic process. Even if it is a cancer it might be in very early stages and responsive to treatment completely. It is best that she gets evaluated by an oncology screening team and take necessary treatment.
