Does Viral Infection Cause Sore Throat And Numbness?

I went to Cancun on a vacation with my family and I woke up the first night there with my thumb, show and middle finger numb. It took about an hour for the numbness to go away, but then it was coming back. I had a little discomfort but ignored it during the rest of the vacation. When we came home and I started working on the computer, my fingers on the right hand started to get cold and my right arm has this weird uncomfortable pain. Then on top of if, today (a week after our vacation), my husband woke up with the same symptoms. The same arm. We both have a sore throat also. Could it be some viral infection?

Hello,

Viral infection may cause nerve inflammation of lower limbs. It is called GBS. It may also due to nerve compression or raynauds disease or infection hepatitis c or hypokalemia or hypocalemia etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say weather it is related or not. Use water vapour inhalation thrice a day and hot water intake regularly. use tablet levocetrizine twice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult with your physician/neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
