Due respect to Unknown. I am suspicious about her credentials as her information is signficantly wrong. Might I address a few things? 1. Aspirin does nothing to specifically "thin" the blood. The viscosity of blood is identical for those who take aspirin as for those who do not. Aspirin DOES inhibit the aggregation of platelets. This is a covalent bond and therefore an irreversible bond. It is only "reversed" when your body produces more platelets. 2. Aspirin has been shown to reduce the incidence and severity of stroke and myocardial infarctions. Further those who take aspirin has shown lower incidence of colon cancer. It is the easiest and single best thing you can to to reduce your risk for serious vascular events in those have even a single risk factor for cardiovascular disease: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, family history, diabetes, smoker, and advanced age. 3. Overdoses (due to extreme acid content) of aspirin can be manifested in reduced serum potassium but normal daily doses do not have that risk. (The kidney in an effort to get rid of the acid, looses potassium, with overdose. In normal situations the kidney does not have to resort to spilling potassium in an effort to normalize the bodies pH) 4. The one area of concern is your stomach and small intestine. Some people can have stomach upset and even a bleeding ulcer with the use of daily aspirin. Using 81mg has been shown to afford nearly all of the benefits of 325mg with less risk for GI bleed. 5. Coumadin and aspirin can be tolerated in some particularly high risk patients. This is commonly done in a cardiology practice. 6. A blood test such as PT (pro time, sometime discussed as INR) or PTT (Partial Prothrombin Time) are not changed by use of aspirin. A lab study done less often, template bleed time, can be effected by aspirin, however. I hope this clears up some of what has been written about aspirin. If you need references on all that I have written above, I would be happy to supply them. Good luck.

I was in hospital last week because of dizziness & passed out. I have A-Fib as well & I am an insulin dependent diabetic. Upon leaving hospital for 4 days I was put on Cartia XT 120mg 1X day & Eliquis 5mg 2X day. I had severe nose bleeds 2X within 6 hours. I stopped the Eliquis after 4 days. My Doctor put me on 1 baby asprin day & I am still taking the Cartia XT which is helping my blood pressure. Will the baby asprin help work as a blood thinner & help prevent strokes ? thx for your info, Paul

Dear colleaggues, I'm Ingrid Hilman, MD, 58 years. had my stenting on 17 Feb, 3 stents in LAD and RCA.

Since 2 weeks ago, I develop severe headaches, esp during the iningt or when I wake up in the morning and also palpitation (heart rate > 90). I feel weak during palpitation. I do not have hypertension (my BP is between 90-110 and 70-80). I do not have obesity, smoking habits, my lab is pretty good only LDL 100.

Is this because of the herbresser that I take 3 times a day?

Other drug that I take;

- Aspirin 1 x 100 mg

- Plavix 1 x 75 mg

- Lipitor 1 x 10 mg.

Appreciate your inputs on my above complaints. Thank you very much

Hi, it has been a week now since I donated blood and there is terrible bruising along the side and right above where they placed the needle. There is also a stiff tightening pain as I move my arm that goes from my elbow up towards my shoulder. I ve taken aspirin and ibuprofen occasionally to try and ease the pain but nothing has helped. I even tried icing it on and off the first few days after, which was recommended by our American Red Cross donation center. Should I be concerned?

Hi Doc

I am a male, 68yo, widower, Chinese (not from China). I lead an active sex life.....I have sex at least twice a week sometimes with different women (not prostitute). For the last 1 month, 5 out of 10 times that I have sex...I couldn't ejaculate although the sensation of ejaculation were there. I have Type 1 Diabetes..I inject 52mg of insulin everyday plus captoril and simvastatin. I also consume 80mg of Aspirin everyday for the last 20 years.

My question is.....Is there any kind of medication\drug that I can take so that I can ejaculate each time I have sex.

Thank you.
