Does Antibiotic Cause Increase Of Ast And Alt Level?
I RECENTLY FINISHED TAKING AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR A SINUS INFECTION. I ALSO TAKE SINGULAR, XYZAL AND NASONEX. I HAD BLOOD WORK DONE ONE DAY LATER AND MY ALT AND AST CAME BACK ELEVATED. NORMAL IS UP TO 40 AND MINE WERE AT 59. COULD IT BE CAUSED BY THE ANTIBIOTIC. I REVIEWED MY PREVIOUS LAB WORK AND THEY WERE NORMAL

Antibiotics and pain killers can cause slight and transient elevation in liver enzymes. Nothing much to worry as it is minor transient change and will return to normal by itself.
