Could Extreme Mood Swings Be The Side Effect Of Removal Of Contraception Implant?

I feel as though I am experiencing all the side effects of having the contraception implant now that I have had it removed! Whilst I was on it - for five years (2rods) I don't believe that I experienced any. However I had my implant removed on 17 Dec and have just had my first menstrual period last week and I am feeling like an emotional train wreck. Can you advise?
