Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there, thanks for asking. Many people who have acid reflux during the night, have also breathing related sleep problem. It is a condition which is accompanied with snoring most of the time. If you are obese, there is more chance to have this problem. You can ask your doctor to assess if you have it. On the other hand, losing weight can manage the problem most of the time. Weight loss should be at least 20 to 25 pounds to be effective. I wish you a good health.

General & Family Physician Dr. Pooja Reddy's  Response
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your query in detail.
I understand that you are having a bad acid reflux. Even though you are not drinking and not on any drugs, you should get yourself treated with some anti acids and anti reflux medications. Ranitidine , rabeprazole and domperidone are good drugs avilable for this purpose.
Also remember that you will never die cause of an acid reflux. So please try to sleep calmly. INcase if you are still worried, do visit a psychiatrist as you are probably having a phobia/OCD.
Bring some change in the food and stop eating all the spicy food.
Do regular exercise and eat healthy.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
Wish you good health,
Dr. Pooja Reddy M.D.
