Child Had Fever, No Appetite, Constipated, Low WBC. Has Red Itchy Bumps On Vagina. Suggest?

"Toddler, 23 months, has had a fever for four days ranging from 99.7-103, no appetite, drinks plenty, constipated, low white blood count. ER said it is virus to have blood count rechecked at Pediatricians office. She now has 2 red/hard itchy bumps on her genitals that have increased in size over the course of the day. We were told to give her ibuprofen for the temperature. She has not had any other meds.

Hi, it appears to be the virus infection, may be gunya, dengue, or flu. I advise you to consult a pediatritian for diagnosis and treatment. Till that time you can give the baby paracetamol syp.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe cifixime though not used in viral fevers it is given to prevent secondary infections. Thank you.

Pediatrician Dr. Synthyia Bhagat's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Since your child is having high grade fever for 4 days and now she had some red itchy bumps as well so most likely it is virl in nature but secondary bacterial infection cannot be ruled out.
So I suggest you to get her re examined by your pediatrician.
In the meantime continue with acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever.
Give plenty of fluids and in case fever is above 102 do tepid sponging.
Apply calamine lotion over reddened area.
Wishing your child good health.
God bless..
