Burning In Vagina, Frequent Urination. Under Surgery To Remove Cyst And Ovary. Taking Norco. Suggestions?

My Mom had surgergy yesterday. She had a cyst and an ovary removed, the surgery went well. She is 88 years old. She is now having burning in her vagina and is needing to urinate every 15 or 20 minutes, She is having burning and aching each time she urinates. She has one pill of Norco for 325miligrahms. Should she take it...would it help?

Hello ma'am.

The presentation your mother is experiencing is common after such a procedure which is why antibiotic coverage after any such procedure is vital to prevent infections.

The medication prescribed (I.e. norco) is to manage pain and inflammation, but an antibiotic would be mandatory. Please speak to your doctor regarding the same.
