Will Lisinopril Help In Treating Frequent Urination Problem?

I have an enlarged prostrate that causes frequent urination. I am on Tamsulosin & Oxybutynin to help but still struggle with frequent urination. Pharmacist has suggested Lisinopril to protect my kidneys, will Lisinopril help the frequent urination or make it worse/

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .
The frequency for urination that you have is due bladder outlet obstruction.

.Lisonopril is ACE inhibitor drug and will not help to relieve obstructive urinary symptoms at all.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis till then continue taking Tomsulosin
