I have been on birth control for almost a year, but this month i recently started taking a new birth control this month called Loestrin. I got my period one week two of the pill. I thought it was break through bleeding but it has lasted for 7 days. It has been very bright red blood, dark tissue and today i had grey discharge that smelled. What does this mean?
When you start taking birth control pills , you might not see regular periods for a few months.
You might see irregular spotting, lighter periods than you are used to or a heavier flow for the first month or so. Your body needs to adjust and regularise the hormone levels.
You can wait and watch the bleeding pattern in the next few cycles which will regularise with time.Intervention is required when the bleeding is heavy with clots, abdominal cramps or more than seven days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
