86 Years. Has Leaky Tricuspid Valve. Trouble Breathing, On Antibiotics For Pnemonia. Suggested Valve Repair. Can Handle Surgery?
My mom is 86 and has a leaky tricuspid valve. She's been in the Hosp for over a week. Her lungs are full of fluid. The lung Dr said that in order to survive she needs the valve repaired. We don't feel she could handle the surgery. How long can she live with this leaky valve? They're treating her for pneumonia with antibiotics. She's having terrible trouble breathing.

Hi, it is called the heart failure, due to pneumonia. due to back pressure it is causing pressure over the heart. If the lung infection is controlled it may subside by its own. Probably that was not controlled, that is why they have prefered the surgery.
Probably it is done by catheterization through the vein in the theigh. so dont worry about the risk. Thank you.
