With a acute injury it is difficult to check movement of the finger but in uncomplicated fractures nerve damage is exceedingly uncommon. A physician can check the finger for sensation with pin pricks but again, short of a compound fracture (bone sticking out of skin) nerve injury is very unlikely.

Welcome to Health Care Magic
Hope you are doing good. Fractures often take place in the hand. A fracture may cause pain, stiffness, and loss of movement. Some fractures will cause an obvious deformity, such as a crooked finger, but many fractures do not. Because of the close relationship of bones to ligaments and tendons, the hand may be stiff and weak after the fracture heals.
There are few test like EMG and Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) Testing. But i wont recommend it at this stage because its a normal case and it usually have the same symptoms after fracture.
I hope have answered your query
