What Causes Pain, Swelling And Burning After The Titanium Rod Insertion?

I got 2 spiral fractures the of of January in my right shin above my ankle. I had emerg surgery and got a titanium rod and 3 screws. I have been having pain, swelling and sharp burning pains. I was told I can get the rod out in a yr. Im wondering if there is something wrong or is this part of the healing process?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Don't worry. It is safe. The pain, swelling and burning sensation will get better. Wait for a few weeks after the rod adjusts with your muscles and bones.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. A. Amin, Homeopath
