17 Yrs Old, Have Thick Breasts As If In Puberty. Any Possibility Of Growth Plates Being Closed ?
HI Doctor!!. I am almost 17 years old and my breasts are thick as if i am still in puberty , ive been in puberty a long time and i have no idea if i am a late bloomer but my brother was. I have been lifting since i was 15 and stopped now since i really wanted to grow. i am 5.6 and havent grown in almost 2 years. what s the possibilty of my growth plates being closed and if they are open do i still have a chance to grow atleast 5 inches? thanks alot!!!

Girls tend to reach skeletal maturity earlier than boys i.e. their growth plates usually close around ages 15 to 18, while boys' growth plates close later, at around ages 15 to 17. for girls this is the age when puberty has finished.After a girl's first period it is usually between one to three years when she will stop growing and the amount of growth after that first period averages at about one to two inches per year.
hence considering you just entered your 17th year you still have a chance to grow 3-4 inches.
For that good nutrition and exercise is required.good nutrition includes vitamins and other nutrients.
if you want o know if the growth plates have closed or not you can get an X-Ray of your wrist and forearm done.it'll show the growth plate and if its closed or still open.
