Question: Hi doctor,

I am a healthy non-smoker & non-alcoholic who do moderate exercise regularly.

I found the following results in a routine Complete Blood Picture test -
Haemoglobin = 15.1 g/dL; RBC = 5.64 mn/cumm; WBC = 5900

Differential counts-
Neutrophils = 41%;
Lymphocytes = 49%
Eosinophils = 3%
Monocytes = 7%
Basophils = 0
Platelet Count = 210000

Peripheral Smear -
RBC diagnosed as Normocytic Normochromic;
WBC diagnoed as Relative lymphocytosis;
Platelets are Adequate

Can you please recommend next steps to investigate what can be issues with higher percentage of Lymphocytes?
Please help.

Brief Answer:
The absolute lymphocyte count is within range, nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

All your blood parameters are within range and there is nothing to worry.
There is slight relative lymphocytosis, however, the absolute lymphocyte count is within range i.e. less than 4000 per cubic millimetre.
Thus, there is nothing to worry.
You may repeat complete blood count after few months.

Thanks and take care

Thanks for the prompt response Dr. Shailaja.

Please allow me to provide some more insights.
I don't have any detectable infections currently, nor do have any symptoms showing so.
Can there is undetected Toxoplasmosis? In which case, should I get some tests done for it?

I have been living in London since last 2 years and have recently moved to XXXXXXX for a vacation. Can this cause a sudden surge in my immunity resulting in higher Lymphocytes count?

Also, I have got 1-2 warts on my head but the doctor in London told me that they are benign and will go away in a few years on their own.

So will you not recommend any further tests to be done to identify any specific reason for higher percentage of Lymphocytes?

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Blood tests do not indicate toxoplasmosis or any other illness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
Nothing more needs to be done currently.
As I mentioned that lymphocytosis is only relative and not absolute so it does not indicate any underlying disease.

The blood tests do not indicate toxoplasmosis.

Thanks and take care
