default
Posted on Fri, 28 Nov 2014
Question: Hi again

I saw the urologist and did the following :

semen culture
urine culture
Urine test
ultrasound

The latest tests are:
• blood.jpg
• urine_test.jpg

attached.

Dr said no infection but there is blood in urine.
URBC 8-10 ( noraml range: 0-4)
He did another Ultrasound
Where the blood come from? He does not know.
He said: The most common reason the Trans Rectal Ultrasound Scanning is performed is because either a blood test called PSA is abnormally high or the findings on examining the prostate through the back passage are abnormal.

but I have a normal PSA and Digital rectal examination is normal

I have a 2 mm stone in the left kidney.

What can you rule out here?

Thanks

The stone was there even when I did the Ultrasound back in XXXXXXX
also, there is protein in your urine.

Brief Answer:
RBC in blood could be due to stone.in kidney.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing agin.
The presence of 1+ protein in urine does not signify any major pathology eirther in kidneys.
It should be considered as normal finding ha occurs even in mild UTI.or even in normal individuals.

As regards 8-10 RBC in urine it could be due to injury to mucosa of collecting system (Calyx)in kidney by the spikes of the stone .

Since all the tests are within normal limits you should not worry at all.

Ensure to drink more water so as to keep urine dilute and you pass more urine which in its turn will help to pass the stone down into bladder and out of Urethral passage .

Hope I have answered your query Please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to address the same.

Thanking you with Regards,
Dr.Patil.

Brief Answer:
Solitary cystin kidney has no significance

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Solitary Cyst in the kidney has no significance Many a times we find multiple cysts in kidney on doing Ultrasound scanning as apart of routine investigation These are usually congenital and draw no significance ,These are benign painless cyst and will never cause bleeding and it is left alone (No treatment is required.)

We come across so many patients like you and time is a best factor to get it resolved itself.

Thanks and Regards.
