Brief Answer: high creatinine reflects kidney disease Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Increasing serum creatinine reflects poor kidney function. But why was it tested in the first place. Is the child suffereing from some infection or problem, is he admitted in hospital, was it a premature delivery. These are important to know. Serum creatinine of 1mg/dl is normal but 2 or 3 mg/dl denotes significant kidney dysfunction. I think you should discuss the matter with the treating pediatrician. In case you want more information , kindly supply with your childs case details and copy of reports. best wishes

Brief Answer: high creatinine Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX First i would like to tell you NOT TO PANIC. Whatever is the problem the child is under treatment. So the best you can do is keep calm. if the baby is passing good amount of urine and he continues to do so the creatinine will improve subsequently. The reasons for high creatinine must have been evaluated by the treating doctor, sometimes the reason is not clear immediately and it needs to be evaluated. though the lab report is high but the child is passing good amount of urine. i think you should wait for a day and see how things evolve Rising creatinine is a problem as it denotes poor kidney function. Dialysis is a method to support kidney function. The dicision of dialysis is to be taken by the treating doctor after examining the clinical condition of the patient and incorporating the evidence of blood reports. If the treating doctor feels that dialysis should be done then i think you should go ahead. Best wishes.
