What Does My Urine Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Apr 2014
Question: Hi I've just run the urine test with the following results: Sugar (Negative), Billirubin (Negative), Ketones (Negative) Specific Gravity (<=1.005), pH (6), Protein (Negative), Urobillinogen (Negative), Nitrite (Negative), Leucocytes (Negative), RBC (40), WBC (nil), Epithelial Cells (nil), Casts (nil), Crystals (nil). The bacteria test is negative. The test was done after my urologist done some treatment due to my Levator ani Syndrome. He was saying the high RBC may due to his treatment, today I did another test, and I'm still waiting for the result. Any comment on this doctor?

Brief answer...your doctor may be right. Detailed answer.... Hello, Thanks for the query. It is quite likely that the presence of RBC in urine is due to the treatment given by your doctor. It is better to wait for further urine reports. If the cause of blood is due the treatment, then gradually RBC should diminish and go away. In case RBC persists in urine or increase in urine, then investigations would be required to find the cause. Absence of any WBC means, there is no residual infection. Let us wait for the urine report. I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query. Best of luck Thanks
