default
Posted on Mon, 22 Dec 2014
Question: In my Annual Health Check, Chest X-Ray report shows below impression:
"Irregular scary opacity at right upper and left middle/lower zones due to Koch's lesion, soft tissue and bony cages are unremarkable, both domes of the diaphragm are normal in position and contour, both costophrenic angles are clear, the cardiac silhouette is normal in size and configuration, the mediastinum is central, both hila are normal in position, size, shape and density"

Please suggest what should i do ? Is there any connection of above impression and the dry cofugh which i had over 1 plus months.

Brief Answer:
You should get done few more investigation s.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for your question on HCM.

Yes, there is strong connection with your cough since 1 month and x ray findings. I want to ask you few questions first.

1. Do you have low grade fever and weight loss?
2. Do you have loss of appetite?
3. Do you have habit of smoking?
4. Do you have sputum production?

There is strong possibility of tuberculosis in your case.

I advice you some investigations which will help in diagnosis.
1. CBC (Complete Blood Count ) with ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
2. Sputum examination for AFB (Acid Fast Bacilli) to rule out TB.
3. If sputum production is not present than Bronchoscopy and XXXXXXX (Broncho Alveolar Lavage ) analysis for TB.
4. CT THORAX SOS.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done these investigations.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
