Brief Answer:
Fatty liver is not abnormal finding.Do not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through all the reports that you have attached here. SGPT is slightly elevated which here could be due to grade-I fatty liver. This value has no clinical significance in an otherwise healthy individual. I would not be worried about it.

Rest of the reports are completely normal.

Here, I would like to say that fatty liver is not alarming finding. It indicates fatty tissue deposition on the liver like in all men who have fatty or pendulous abdomen. Therefore I wouldn't be personally worried about this finding.

Here, I would like to ask some questions,
May I know your height and weight,
Can you brief me about your daily eating habits
Do you drink alcohol (if there is, then how much),
Do you have any clinical symptoms?
Have you visited some local doctor for the same?

Generally, fatty liver condtion is a kind of obesity. And grade-ii fatty liver is completely reversible in the initial stages specially, by following below mentioned corrective measures what you have asked.

1) do regular exercise or brisk walk at least 30 minutes per day

2) Cessation of alcohol intake (if you are alcoholic)

3) Avoid junk foods and fast foods,

4) Also take low fat and high protein diet (Veg- Pulses, soyabean and cheese)

5) You should take more fresh fruits and vegetables.

Although there is no such a time limit on when to have a repeat ultrasound scan but it can be repeated after 3 months following above corrective measures to check the liver status along with some liver function tests(SGPT,SGOT)

From all the above discussion, here I want to say that fatty liver is actually a obesity of liver just like when person put on some extra weight, termed as grade-i obesity which is obviously not abnormal nowadays. So be rested and do not get panicked with this report.

Hope this information will help you.

Do ask me followup question.

Brief Answer:
BMI 27.9 is pre-obesity or over weight.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the follow-up,

As per your height and weight,BMI would be 27.9 which is slightly on a higher side and can be considered as a pre-obese class.

Occasional alcohol consumption is not so harmful but here i would advise you to discontinue alcohol intake from now onwards,as you have developed fatty liver (grade-i)on your ultrasound.

Your lipid profile is within normal limits,so you can continue occasional non-veg meal, there will be no issue with that.Otherwise your diet habit is good.

Continue to exercises the way you are doing right now like morning walking for 30 minutes.

Initial 20 to 30 minutes exercises burn our excess carbohydrate stored in the body but after that time, body starts burning fat,so it would be advisable to continue exercises for 45 minutes considering your over-weight and sedentary life style which will here, also help to recover from fatty liver.

If you do not have any problem then you need not to much bother about fatty liver. It is quite normal to have mild fatty liver in XXXXXXX eating life style specially the person who is above 40 years of age.

Wishing you a good health,

Somebody is telling me "LIV 52 DS" is good for fatty liver. LIV 52 DS is good liver tonic. Should i start taking it.
Further in one of my earlier report my cholesterol level was slightly on higher side, although my cholesterol level is normal as per this current report. For controlling cholesterol, i am taking flex seeds, 1/2 spoon daily. Should i continue with this.

Brief Answer:
No problem in taking Liv 52 DS.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up.

Here,I would say that Liv 52 DS is not going to help much.
Liver has its own power to regenerate, so if you stop consuming alcohol further and there is no damage yet, it would recover on its own.

You can take Liv 52 as you are taking, as such there is no problem in taking it.

As your serum cholesterol is normal, then no need to worry about it.However, you can take this flex seeds as you are taking, there is no harm in that.

Wishing you good health.
