This Hair Follicle Drug Test (5‐Panel) checks for the presence of five drug metabolites including: amphetamines/methamphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine, but on request, lab can also include semi-symthetic opioid like hydrocodone or oxycontin, percocet, oxycodone. Benzodiazepine could not be detected by 5 panel hair follicle test.

For benzodiazepine, you have to go for 9 panel hair follicle test or higher one, which could detect cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, opiates including heroin, codeine, and morphine, PCP (Angel Dust), benzodiazepines, methadone, barbiturates, propoxyphene.

I thought I would need to get the 5 panel WITH extended opiates to test for hydrocodone and oxycodone. I was under the assumption that the Standard 5 panel will only test positive for Heroin, morphine, and codeine in the opiates category.

I'm sorry I may not be explaining this right. The standard 5 panel says it tests for Heroin, Morphine, and Codeine in the opiates category. Does that include semi-synthetics like Hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Or do I need to have the extended opiates 5 panel to detect the semi-synthetics Hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Will Hydrocodone and Oxycodone show up in the standard 5 panel NOT doing the extended opiates panel?

I'm trying to determine to the "T" what shows up in standard 5 panel hair follicle, opposes the 5 panel WITH extended opiates. What drugs does the extend opiates hair follicle panel included?

I would suggest you for extended 5 panel test. The standard 5 panel test includes only five drugs i.e amphetamines/methamphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine,. It does not includes semi-synthetic opioids. The extended 5 panel test also includes opioid like hydrocodone or oxycontin, percocet, oxycodone, vicodin.
