finately there.
What can that be?
finately there.
What can that be?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic.
I would need to ask you whether mono is a presumptive diagnosis or whether it has been tested positive. I would also need to ask whether antibiotics have been given (your statement is not clear in this regard), as antibiotics when given in mono can give rise to rashes. Also mention whether the rashes are itchy. Please upload an image of the rashes.
You can give some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days. I will wait for your response. Based on that I would guide you further.
Gurgling with lukewarm water would help in relieving the soreness of throat.

Mono was diagnosed by a finger blood test at school. She took antibiotics thinking it was strep too. It wasn't. She has gone thru the itchy rash which is now almost gone. Now she has a lump of flesh that doesn't hurt on the small of the back. That's what I'm worried about. She is about 6 weeks into the mono. My mind is running away thinking that it's some type of lymphoma. Please reply XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Your second (follow up) query was received and I am answering that. You would need to be a bit patient.
The rashes were possibly due to the antibiotics being given in mono. It is good to hear that the rash is almost gone. However, I would still insist you to upload an image of the lump of flesh that you are describing. I do not find a connection with lymphoma from the mentioned details.
I will await your response.

Dr.
You can't really see the lump of flesh. I can't even feel it but she does and my wife does. We are going to our primary today. She has also been complaining of stomach pain and diaherea for the last few days. She's breaking up with her first boyfriend. Can this be anxiety? I just can't get past that fleshy lump. He told her to take a big gulp of pepto bismal last night and he'll see her in the am. I have been googling all types of lymphoma which is probably the worst thing I can do. Can you add anything else that it might be?
Thank you,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Does not seem to be lymphoma
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for clarifying. Somehow, the mentioned presentation does not have slightest resemblance with lymphoma and I would insist you not to worry about the same. Anxiety can be a complicating factor and could be contributory to the abdominal pain and diarrhea.
It would be a good idea to get her evaluated by her primary care physician. A clinical examination would help in clarifying whether there is anything to worry about with respect to the fleshy lump.
Nothing to add at present. Let me know if you have any specific queries.
