What Does A Lump On Labia Majora Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 5 Mar 2015
Question: Hello my name is XXXXX I am 19 years old and I am not allergic to anything. I have noticed a lump coming up on my left labia majora. I noticed it just a few days ago and it is still there, it seems like it is getting bigger, but it may just be all in my head. It is just red right now. And I have noticed some come up before but they were not as big as this one is and they would just go away in a couple of days . I was just curious as to what this might be. Please advise me what to do. I would go to the doctor to have it looked at but I do not have medical insurance so I'm trying this first before anything else. Also I am sexually active. If anyone could please advise me of something that I could do at home to make this go away it would he great. Thanks

Brief Answer:
could be bartholin cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting HCM,
A lump could be anything from a bartholin cyst, to wart , to genital herpes lesion or an STD . It is requested that if you can attach a picture of the same for a local exam , it would be helpful in diagnosis and giving an opinion for the same.
If you are sexually active then it may be an STD .

Brief Answer:
may be bartholin cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Still with softness of the lesion, and cystic feel , this may be a bartholin cyst which may require marsupialization if increases in size or cause any painful symptoms. However a local examination by your physician to confirm the diagnosis would be mandatory.
