He flies a lot as well. Is currently on no medication, only vitamins. Has an appt for full physical in 2 weeks. What could he do in the mean time to help bring these numbers in balance? Many thanks.

See the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
I am Dr Aslam here to help you.
His pulse rate ok,but BP is on the higher side.
If the BP was measured after having quite seated for about 15-20 minutes, this need medical attention.
Our normal BP is around 120/80.Any value above this has to be confirmed by a second recording on next visit after a few days.If persisting,we go for further management.
Up to 140/90 this is pre-hypertension,and just need lifestyle modification with diet and exercise management.
Above 140/90 it is definite hypertension, demanding antihypertensive medications.

So I advise you repeat the recording after about 5 days, and proceed further accordingly.Keep the values ready on hand for the coming physical.
Meanwhile, practice a diet with low salt & fat(especially non veg),and rich in fruits and green leafy veges.Do regular moderate exercise 45-50 minutes daily.Try to quit smoking and alcohol if any.Stress relaxation techniques also might help.Overweight and stress are important risk factors for hyper tension.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have further questions,I will be happy to help.
Wishing both of you good health,Thank you.
