Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How to deal with short temperateness, sudden swearing, irrational and spiteful activities?
I have a son in his forties who has always had a "short fuse". He can go from OK to suddenly swearing, acting irrational and spiteful. He has tried drugs for depression over the years - to no avail. We are desperate as it is tearing his family apart. Please help
I think, he also needs cognitive behavioral therapy. For that, you should consult a psychologist for proper therapy. It would help to clear cognitive distortions. he can also try anger management and relaxation technique that would help to control anger. In case, he needs medications, he can consult a psychiatrist and can consult us.
Thanks
