Question: Hello Doctor,

Recently,I have got the abdomen and pelvis scan as part of preventive health check-up of my mother (Age : 59 years,Postmenopausal) done. Two of the finding is bothering me.

1. Liver is enlarged (size 15.41 cm) with 0.6 cm X 0.72 cm in size cystic lesion seen in the liver.

2. Midline Endometrium is thickened (size 1.32 cm). This was the finding by a radiologist. Later when we consulted a Gynec and when she performed the ultra-sonograpy the thickness came to size of 1.17 cm.

3. Sonography report suggest Myometrium is isoechoic. Endometrium is Hyperplastic & hyperechoic with multiple hypoechoic area.

4. Uterus (79.2 mm x 30.3 mm x 46.9 mm) and Ovaries (Left - 2.9 ml) and (Right - 4.3 ml) is normal in size as per ultra-sonography report.

She is diabetic where the sugar score varies between 130 - 150 for past few years.

The ultrasound was carried out on a preventive health check-up basis and there was no pain on any sort of discomfort, bleeding etc she had in recent time.

We have also got blood test and X-Ray Chest in August 2016 and all the report CBC,LFT, Kidney Function etc is all well under the normal limits.

She underwent a major vascular surgery in 2011 and since then she is on medication such as ecosprin 75 etc.She is mild asthmatic as well.

Please help me with your suggestions on the above two findings.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Endometrial biopsy advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Health Care.Magic Forum. Thanks for trusting is with your health query.I have gone through your query and understand your concerns completely.
As far as findings of liver and kidney are concerned there is nithing to worry and it just needs 6 monthly follow up only.
But the endometrial thinkness (uterine lining) is not a good finding.
She definitely needs endometrial biopsy and evaluation at the earliest.
Get it done and the report we can discuss it accordingly.

Dr Manisha
