Posted on Thu, 2 Nov 2017
Question: I just had my second endometriosis excision surgery where they removed endo from my bowel and rectum. I got the biopsy results back and it said outside of endo they also found Endosalpingiosis. What's this?

Brief Answer:
May not need any treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Endosalpingiosis is the presence of ectopic, cystic glands outside the fallopian tube that are lined with fallopian tube-type ciliated epithelium. This may occur in pelvic organs, including ovaries, fallopian tube serosa, uterine serosa, myometrium, or pelvic peritoneum.
This can cause pelvic pain, infertility, menstrual irregularities and dyspareunia. As such treatment is not needed if it is asymptomatic. In case it causes symptoms that treatment is done accordingly.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
