Posted on Mon, 13 Apr 2015
Question: Horrible pain on my left side. Feels lil a stabbing pain in my uterus. I have the paraguard and have had it for a year. This pain is unlike any of the cramps I have ever gotten, I already had my period this month and currently have no bleeding. The pain is so strong it is making me nauseous and I have thrown up 4 times in the past 3 hours.

I am slightly warm but do not know what my temp is. I can pass stools but while pushing it out it makes the pain in the front abdomen region worse. It is very mild back pain but that could be from working. I believe it is called physicians best pain reliever. It is a generic form that my work gets. 350 mg pills. It didn't help, I don't know if that's BC I continued to throw up after I had taken it, I don't want to take more BC I've been getting nauseous.

Acute gastroenteritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

From the history you have given me it looks like you are suffering from acute gastroenteritis. It is not related to your period cramps. Here is what you should do

1. Tab Sporolac three times daily after food for 5 days
2. Tab Omeprazole once daily before food for 5 days
3. Eat only bland food, avoid spicy food
4. Avoid smoking and alcohol until you are better
5. Avoid milk and milk products
6. Tab Hyoscine is the idea pain killer for this type of pain. Tylenol can also help
7. Drink plenty of water, upto 6-8 glasses per day

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
