Detailed Answer:
Hello
THanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Is there a pattern of intermenstrual spotting that you are discerning ?
At times, irregular spotting can be due to stress, anxiety, unaccustomed exercise, travelling, erratic eating or drinking habits, late nights, weight gain or weight loss, ingestion of birth control etc.
Are any of these present in your case ?
Apart from that, there are a few conditions - hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian disease, endometrial hyperplasia, polyp or fibroid , a lesion on the cervix etc that can cause such a symptom.
You need to consult a gynecologist for a thorough evaluation.
Please go for per vaginum and per speculum exam , a pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid Profile.
You should also go for a Pap smear .
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
