What Causes Sharp Pain During Intercourse?
Question: hi why do I get a sharp pain on the left side inside my vagina when I have sex

Is this problem recent or have you always had it ?
The reasons can be varied.
Due to deep penetration or rough sex, the cervix can be overtly stimulated, leading to pain.
Also, it could be indicative of a vaginal / pelvic infection, if there are associated features like altered discharge, itching , foul smell , burning during urination etc.
Sometimes a condition like endometriosis can also lead to such pain, it is a condition where active tissue that lines the uterine cavity is present outside the uterus too.
Rarely, on the left side, bowel conditions can cause pain, do you have habitual constipation or loose motions or problems in defecating ?
If the pain is not so severe, try altering sexual positions, avoiding deep sex or using a lubricant.
If this does not help, please consult a gynecologist for a detailed internal evaluation - per vaginum and per speculum, also a pelvic ultrasound scan and a vaginal swab to rule out infection.
