Brief Answer:
there are some potentially helpful tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

post-infectious fatigue and malaise is fairly common particularly for viruses like influenza virus. There are some tests to help you find if you have an active infection. The easiest one is to check your temperature with a thermometer. Normal temperatures are against it but they don't exclude mild infections.

Lab tests like the complete blood count and C-reactive protein measurement are also important in this regard. High white blood cell count is consistent with infections, particularly bacterial ones. Normal white blood cell count is against infections but it does not exclude them either.

C-reactive protein (CRP) is an inflammatory marker that increases during infections. Bacterial infections are associated with higher CRP elevations than viral ones. Normal CRP is very much against an infection and almost excludes it.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind regards!
