Brief Answer:
suspecting few conditions

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM
As i could establish the two major complaints of headache and forgetfulness.

For headache i am suspecting conditions of migraine, tension headache, sinus headache. I may require some more specific answers from you. Therefore,

My question to you:
What is the garden of pain on the scale of 1 10 10?
Is it constant band-like pain or pressure on front, top or sides of the head?
is it pounding, throbbing pain that extends to the whole head, or shifts from one side of the head to the other?
Is the pain of burning or piercing quality that is throwing or constant and located behind one eye or in region of eye?
Is the pain deep and constant in the cheekbones or over nose, and intensifies on head movements or straining?

How long the episode last and how frequent they occur?

what are the associated symptoms:
Is the nausea, vomiting?
Difficulty in falling asleep, irritability, fatiguability?
any triggering or aggravating factors such as intense exposure to light, noise levels, certain food products, etc?
Associated fever, nasal discharges, facial swelling?

Regarding forgetfulness,
Considering his age i would like to keep my differentials as early age onset dementia, vascular dementia, dementia secondary to thyroid dysfunction, nutritional deficiency and secondary to psychological causes like depression.

Here i may need to know:
Does he have difficulty in remembering daily routine activities like bathing, brushing, shaving, etc?
Does he not able to remember roads, name of persons, places?
Does he have any thyroid related problem, hypertension, diabetes?

My suggestion to you:
For headache and over the counter drugs like ibuprofen can be used thrice a day.
For forgetfulness, there may require certain investigation like MRI head, vit b12 levels, thyroid function tests, blood pressure measurements, blood tests, diabetic screening, etc. They are necessary to diagnose the underlying cause.
Information on above can help me to have a better clinical picture. However i strongly recommend if the problem persist or gets worsen you must see a local neurologist.

Hope to have given you a satisfactory answer, welcome for further queries.
Regards,
Dr Pankaj
