Question: Hello,

My name is XXXXXXX I need help. I have been to several doctors and no one seems to be able to help me with my constant pain. I suffer every month since I was 16 (I am now 24) with severe lower abdomen pain. I have had several sonograms and blood work taken. I have the same answers all the time. I have multiple fibroids located on my uterus and an ovarian cyst. They tell me that with each period my cyst and fibroids are too small to cause me any kind of pain. They have informed me that with birth control it should control me pain. This has not been the case for me. Every month before my mentrual cyle I suffer for sharp pains. This pain leaves me feeling motionless and tired. I can not sleep because I can only go for about two hours before the pain wakes me up. I have tried Advil. Midol pain killers. Everything. They work for two hours and the pain comes back right away. I can't handle the pain anymore. Please someone help me.

Brief Answer:
CT pelvis is advisable. investigate for endometriosis too.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM,

I can understand your concerns,

In my opinion you should go for CT pelvis to know the exact pathology.

If it confirms fibroid, you should take tablet mifepristone 25mg (prescription drug) for 6months.discuss it with your gynecologist about management of fibroid medical as well as surgical like myomectomy once you complete your family.

If it shows ovarian cyst, you should take birth control pills or laproscopically surgical removal of cyst.

In my opinion you should investigate for endometriosis too because in case of endometriosis patient has sharp pain during menses.CT pelvis helps in finding endometriosis. Consult your doctor about it .

Hope it helps.

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX

I have done all of that. I even had loposcoptic surgery to find out if I had endometriosis they told me that I do not have it. I have a twin and she however has the same pain and has endometriosis. I automatically was convinced I had it as well. I have had loposcoptic surgery twice once to find out if I had endometriosis and the second time was to find remove cyst on my ovaries. Every time I get a sonogram I have had vaginal sonograms and regular ones. I have x-rays ct on my adomodinal. Everything is always the same I have little cyst and mutiple fibroids on my uterus that they tell me will disolve with my period. Once I get my period the pain does go away. My periods are normal and not heavy and only last three days. I have been told time and time again there is nothing they can do for me but to live with the pain. I really can't every single month. It hurts sitting at my desk at work. While walking. I can't exercise or have sexual intercourse. This pain is seriously taken over my life and to be told there is nothing I can do about this makes me so emotional! There has to be an answer please feel free to pass this along for opinions I am desperate at this point. Please help!

Brief Answer:
surgical treatment of fibroid.

Detailed Answer:
Sorry for late response.

You have been investigated thoroughly and these says that you have cyst and multiple fibroids.

I advise that you should try treatment for fibroid.
it is treated by medically as well as surgically.

if you have already tried medical treatments, then you should go for myomectomy or advanced surgery like magnetic resonance guided focus ultrasound.

The ultimate treatment would be to go for hysterectomy once you complete your family.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Thanks.
