default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: Sir my wife is 2 month pregnant and we found a swelling near left side of vulva. We consult our doctor . She prescribed us an antibiotic for a week. The grown a lil bit but without any pain. What should we do as doctor says that operations can be done right. Now

Please amend the Las line. Doctor said that operation can't be done right now. As anaesthesia can create problem to the foetus. What should we do? If anaesthesia given after 3 months , will it be safe for the baby...

Good morning mam. I have attached the required pic. Antibiotic 1 weak completed(medicine started from

Brief Answer:
Surgery needs to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, this is a recurrence of the "Bartholin" gland swelling.
This has to be drained.
Medication will not resolve the issue, since you have already taken it for so long.
Has the size of the swelling decreased after taking the antibiotics?
If there is no response, surgery has to be done.
This surgery is done under local anesthesia, which can be given at any point during pregnancy.
Please discuss it with your doctor.
