What Causes Itchy Red Rashes On Back After Waxing?

Question: I had got my back waxed a week back and now i am noticing red spots and rashes on my back with itching. Please see attached images. Please let me know how can they be cured and in how much time.

Welcome back. I have answered your earlier query too. So hello again!

I have gone through the query and I have also seen the attached Images.

I will keep a possibility of Pityriasis Rosea. I don't think it is related to waxing.

Though I would like to specifically inquire, did the spots develop immediately after waxing or the very next day?Or was there a lag period of a week before you noticed these spots?

In the photos I can make out that there are round/ oval patches all over the back, oriented along the ribs in a Christmas Tree Pattern; this is classical of Pityriasis rosea.
I can also notice that there is also very fine scaling at places.
I would advice my patients of Pityriasis Rosea to mix a topical potent steroid cream (either clobetasol propioante Or mometasone furoate) with a moisturizing cream in an equal proportion (1:1) and apply it over the affected area twice daily.
The patches would take around 10 days to 2 weeks to resolve.
New patches may appear while the old ones resolve and there can be 1 or 2 recurrent episodes/ new crops of pityriasis rosea. But they need to be managed similarly.
An OTC oral antihistamine once daily e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would take control of the itch.
Topical steroids are prescription drugs therefore you must visit a dermatologist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

It happened after waxing only. It never occurred before. A friend of mine had noticed the same on her back after waxin. So i think it should be related to waxing.g

The pattern is very distinctive of Pityriasis Rosea. Though the rash has happened after waxing but that does'nt exclude P. Rosea.
-Why would waxing spare areas of normal looking skin in between involved skin?
-Moreover, the rash appeared a week after waxing? If it was due to waxing it should have appeared the same day Or very next day at the most.
I would still go with the same diagnosis of P. rosea. Having said that, the same treatment would be effective in waxing induced rashes as well.
I would suggest you to also review with a dermatologist in your region.
