Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to know if you have any other symptoms like chest pain, breathing difficulty, chronic fatigue, low blood pressure, etc.

It is very important to establish first if this is just an isolated cardiac arrhythmia (like ectopic beats), or atrial fibrillation and any other underlying cardiac or metabolic conditions.

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest x ray
- a cardiac ultrasound
- blood lab tests (complete blood count, cardiac enzymes, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, etc.)

to establish the diagnosis, any possible underlying causes and the proper therapy.

I would explain that everyone of the above mentioned disorders, does not influence on your prognosis if treated properly.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
