Brief Answer:
Could be normal or WBC casts

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Urine sediments in increased solid material like casts or crystals seen in urine microscopy.
2. It can be RBC or WBC cast like in infection or stones. It can be epithelial casts - usually with stones.
3. Some crystals can be seen due to concentration of urine sample due to do hydration or delayed evaluation of sample.
4. Depending on type of sediment, further opinion possible. Look for type of cast and crystal. If no specific type mentioned, not to worry, it could be normal.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, glad to help again.

My mother is in the stage of slowly dying from a combination of Diabetes, Parkinson Disease and old age. She is now having Hospice to help me with her. She has been getting bed sores from urine in the diaper she wears so we went to a catheter which has now help with the healing of the bed sores. One sore was very bad but is now looking much better thanks to Silver being applied. Could the lymph system be contributing to this urine problem because of the bed sores?

Brief Answer:
lymph system not responsible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.

Good to know, she is recovering well.

Urine associated with pressure ulcers has caused infection due to increased moisture and bacterial contamination.
The lymph, unless its obstructed has no role in causing infection. Lymph system would be helpful in fighting infection and would not be the cause of present urine infection issue.
Good hydration, improved nutrition, particularly protein rich diet is necessary. Control of blood sugar levels within normal range is a must.

Hope it helps.
