Brief Answer:
Taxim O-200 is effective in eradicating the infection

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Bhutani, Hi
Thanks for posting your query on health care magic.
I can understand your concern for your beloved father for the pressure ulcer on his heel.
Taxim-O (Cefixime) is an antibiotic used to treat caused by susceptible bacteria. It will be effective in healing only if there is an associated infection in the ulcer.
Since, the pressure ulcers can result in infection caused by bacteria which are resistant to routinely used antibiotics hence I would advise a culture and sensitivity of the discharge from the ulcer so as to select the most effective antibiotic to eradicate the infection if any.

Besides oral antibiotics, following measures are found to be useful like:
1. Changing position- avoid keeping foot in dependent position for prolonged periods this helps to prevent pressure ulcers developing and relieves the pressure on the ulcers that have developed.
2. Use of specially designed dressings like Hydrocolloid or Alginate bandages can be used to protect pressure ulcers and speed up the healing process
that encourage the growth of new skin cells in the ulcer, while keeping the surrounding healthy area of skin dry.
3. Debridement it may be necessary to remove dead tissue from the ulcer to help stimulate the healing process.
4. Nutritious diet rich in protein, zinc, vitamins, etc speed up the healing process
5. Maintenance of local hygiene.

It takes a long time for ulcer to heal once it forms. Normally ulcer forms either due to neuropathy: in which case due to lack of sensation there is frequent injury leading to ulcer formation.
Wish your father a very good health & speedy recovery.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
No need for antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Bhutani, Hi
Thanks for your reply.
As long as there is no discharge/pus or other signs of infection like fever, swelling, etc there is no need to give him oral antibiotics.
As suggested earlier, his wound needs to be dressed properly along with frequent change of position, good local hygiene, and a good nutritious diet is what he needs for a speedy healing.
Hope I could answer your query.
Regards.
