Question: Emergency room 6 months ago. They did an EKG, x-ray, 5 Blood tests, blood pressure, heart rate tested for the fluid that indicates heart attack and i was fine, perfect white blood cell count. They said im "perfect".

Im 30 5'9 210 lb. 17% bodyfat i workout 3x a week. the weekend of the 29th 30th 31st i drank xecessively in vegas as well as Friday the 5th (not to the point of throwing up or anything but t lest 2 of those days i had a hangover the following day). (clubbing. I dont do drugs) i may smoke mrijuana once every 4 moths.

The issue has returned. I have a slight discomfort in my my chest. Just enough to make me curious/wonder.

I have been having awkward feelings in my throat lie there is gas and /or mucus in the lower portion. I sleep well, i was able to excercise up until last wee i have not tried this week. No fever, constant nasal congestion, sparatic slight feelings of weakness but the ability to do what i choose.

When i wake up in the morning i get slight pains on the inside of either side of my rib cage (randomly)under my arms but not dabilitating or even seriously painful.

no funny colored mucus no abnormalities in my appearance or nails. No serious decrease in apetite. No blood anywhere (stool, spit, or mucus)

Just really weird chest discomfort along the path of my esophagus that creates quite a bit of unsureity and anxiety. I genuinely feel i could go bench press 315lb. 10 reps now but i know i shouldnt. At first i figured i ws going to have a heart attack because of google but it never happened. Drinking hot tea brings a lot of comfort. IDK what this is but its driving me crazy please help.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not cardiac related.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully read your question and would explain that your symptoms don't seem to be related to any cardiac disorder.

So relax and do not worry about it!

A gastro-esophageal reflux or esophageal spasms could be related to such clinical scenario.

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical exam and a gastro-intestinal endoscopy to exclude this disorder.

Further lab tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests, liver and kidney function tests) would be necessary to exclude possible musculo-skeletal inflammation.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

At the er they said liver and kidney function was perfect as well which sort of tripped me out as well because I go to Vegas too often (Once a month) which usually involves drinking. So I figured if nothing else someone would tell me that was an issue, despite me not drinking daily or more than usually a pint at a time.

I also run and own a business I often work 14-16 hours a day. Could this be a symptom of over exertion?

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

Coming to this point, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to gastro-esophageal reflux or musculo-skeletal inflammation.

You should know that alcohol intake can exacerbate gastro-esophageal reflux and cause irritation of gastric and esophageal mucosa.

That is why I recommended you to perform an endoscopy to examine better the mucosa of the gastro-esophageal junction.

I would exclude over exertion as related to this symptomatology, because it is very atypical to have such symptoms from over exertion.

Meanwhile, I would recommend taking antiacids. If your symptoms are relieved by antiacids or omeprazole, this would be another argument in favor of gastro-esophageal reflux or gastritis.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
