Brief Answer: Detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to HCM, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries. I understand the issue. Your problems is quiet common as females are prone to urine infection. However repeated infections need evaluation. It is not usual to get repeated UTI after every episode of sex. So other causes like a renal stone or a low grade urine infection that is always there and flares up after sex may also be the reasons. The lump of the clitoris is most likely folliculitis or infection of the hair follicle. Sometimes infection of the XXXXXXX glands or an inclusion cyst [ this will never form a head] also causes a lump more closer to the urethral opening. Even if there is no head, there is a possibility that pus is building up inside. The head may come later or may not come at all. So as of now, I suggest that if there are active symptoms of urine infection, get a urine analysis. It would be best if the first morning sample of urine is used as it will be more likely to give a positive result. Drink plenty of water to flush the bacteria away. For the clitoral lump, hot fomentation will help until a head comes [ will not come in a cyst]. Pain killers like acetaminophene can be used to ease the pain. maintain good hygiene and change the undergarments twice daily and wash them with hot water to help prevent reinfection. Once the head comes, it will need to be drained. All in all you will need antibiotics to help control all these infections or they will continue to recur. Drugs like cirprofloxacin are very useful for urine infections as well as the clitoral infection. So you will need to see a doctor for this. Also the doctor will check and see if the clitoral lump is an infection or cysts and can be drained and will be able to decide how long it will get to form a head. The use of antibiotics may help clear the lump before pus forms. So please see a doctor early if possible. If the infections continue to recur, a blood test for sugar must be done. So do not worry. These are common issue and can be dealt with easily. Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help. Thanks for using HCM. Have a good day.
