Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In Groin Area

Question: I am male, 45 years old. Lymph nodes in groin area and neck are swollen and tender. Painful when bending, sitting and moving around. It has been sore for 3 months. What can the cause be and what can be done to relieve this? Lower back pain, but not sure if this is related. No pain urinating. Prone to gout in feet but have not had this recently

The causes of lymph node enlargement are many at your age like tuberculosis or lymphoma or sarcoidosis etc.

I suggest you to consult a physician and get needle biopsy done of the lymph node to diagnosis the cause. Treatment depends accordingly. It may be associated with back pain.

For the present pain you may take anti inflammatory like aceclofenac and antibiotic like amoxicillin to reduce pain and inflammation. Only with this it may reduce little not completely. Treatment should be directed towards the exact cause. You need prescription to get antibiotics.
