default
Posted on Mon, 26 Sep 2016
Question: Is there a cost for this? My symptoms are swollen, distended abdomen, which seems to get worse as the day goes on, tiredness, increase in normal C.O.P.D. symptoms, hot flashes & night sweats. Menopause is long-passed.

The low energy is getting worse. This is the third or fourth day of these symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Needs ultrasound as well as Xray chest and abdomen

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, the abdominal distention needs to be evaluated by your primary to look for any evidence of fluid inside gut or may look for bowel sounds and bowel movements and to reconsider any history of preceding constipation.

You may also be asked for a Xray and ultrasound abdomen to look for any evidence of fluid or dilated gut loops. The chest symptoms and lethargy can be due to the same as well as if diaphragm is pushed upwards from below. A chest Xray to look for any evidence of infective exacerbations of COPD as well as any evidence of effusion or fluid collection may also be needed to be ruled out.

A blood work up for albumin levels as well as blood picture or any evidence of underlying infection or hemoglobin levels also need to be looked into however all in all these symptoms need to be reviewed and worked up for early diagnosis. Meanwhile taking supplements for calcium, B12, D3 and folic acid may help with lethargy and comtinur using inhalers and other treatments you are geting for COPD control.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards
