Suggest Treatment For Spotting After Polyp Removal

Question: Hi Dr XXXXXXX
I had reached out to you earlier for my mother.
She is 55 years old and has gone through an angioplasty in february and is on ecosprin and efiplat for it. She had her menopause 15 years ago.
She also underwent a hysteroscopy + D & C and polypectomy for a polyp in the cervical area on October 16th 2014.
All reports were normal including the biopsy. The bleeding after D & C stopped after 10 days since she was on ecosprin.
She had no complaints for about 40 days until yesterday.
Yesterday she has noted a single blood spot again.
This is concerning me. I am not sure why there should be any blood spots after the polyp removal.

Would her continuous use of ecosprin cause this ?

Please advice

Brief Answer:
common till 3 months

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, it is common to have mild cramping and off and on for a couple of weeks due to the process of healing which is compounded in her case by ecosprin intake.
Observe only till 3 months but in case it happens again after that then we will need a repeat ultrasound.
But most probably it won't reoccur again.
Take care.

Thank you Doctor. Just one more question :)

Yesterday evening my mom saw some more blood flow. This time not spotting but more like blood which oozes from a wound.

Would strenous activities ( working a lot in the day) cause this to increase along with the ecosprin.

We will wait for one more month before we get an ultrasound again.

Thank you for your help.

Brief Answer:
Avoid heavy work

Detailed Answer:

Yes she can have more blood flow due to strenuous activity especially in activities like heavy load lifting like bucket of water or a heavy pile of files.

She should avoid such activities but in any case bleeding will stop by itself and nothing active needs to be done.

But in case bleeding is profuse or persistently high then you should get a repeat ultrasound done.

Take care.
