Suggest Treatment For Side Effects From Consuming Ciprofloxacin And Metronidazole
Question: my wife is having a reaction to ciprofloxacin 500mg or metronidazole500mg.she is having strong back+neck
pain.is there anything she can take to counteract this?it's sunday.these drugs are for diverticulitius.she
started on XXXXXXX 12 stopped on XXXXXXX 19.the pain started XXXXXXX 31.

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Neither ciprofloxacin nor metronidazole is known to cause any back or neck pain as side effects as you described. It is also unlikely that any side effect like this will occur nearly 10-12 days after discontinuation of the drugs.Cause of back or neck pain are due to some other cause. Pending further assessment ,paracetamol 500 mg -1000 mg orally can be taken for relief of pain once or twice a day.
