Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Twitching While Treating Depression
What I am experiencing now are what I call twitches in my body that started in mid August when I was in a depression and reduced my dose of Lamictal. As of September 1, I have been on Lamictal 120 mgs. The twitches were thought to be withdrawal symptoms. In October, I was still having twitches, so I started 200 mgs Seroquel. I have been on both now since October 1st and a steady dose of Lamictal for 3 months now. It can not be withdrawal. Withdrawal should have subsided within a month and should have definitely stabilized when compensated with the additional antipsychicotic. It has not.
I would describe my twitches as electrical surges that can progress to a full contaction, like if it went to my hand, my hand would shake 3 times. I had one experience where a full wave of what felt like a mild electricity passed through my whole body 10 -12 times. It happened 4 times in bed about 30 seconds apart and I got up and sat at the table, freaking out, about what happened, but I knew I had taken my nighttime meds and would be going to sleep, so I went back to bed. Then the same thing happened another 6 - 8 times. At the time, it literally felt like I had spirits going through me. I have only had this happen one other time. I do however, have waves that shoot through my entire torso. My twitches are regular and happen every single time I am resting in bed or going to sleep in bed with the waves through my torso happening randomly. It only happens when I'm at rest, never when upright or sitting.
My psychiatrist and PCP still say withdrawal even though it's been 3 months. Web MD, said to consider mild tardive dysconesia or anxiety and to persue nerve testing, but no one can tell me why it only happens while I am at rest in my bed.
My demonic attack which I now call it and which I believe 100% that that is what it was as it is the 2nd one I've had in 2 years and occurred the very next day, after I attended church for the 1st time in 10 years and a lady said the Holy Spirit spoke to her and told her I was going to be born again. Well, I have been born again, and I have cast demons out of myself twice, the Holy Spirit also made a storm cloud disappear when I prayed as well as other very strange and quick answers to prayer. I am changing. I know all of this sounds pretty crazy, believe me, it's more than crazy, it's supernatural. I have experienced things that only Mr. XXXXXXX the demonologist seems to understand completely. Dr. Robbins and Mr. XXXXXXX both believe that God has allowed me to go through these things for a reason and that he has a plan. Right now, I'm just concerned about the twitches.
I have however had a thought recently, one of the scriptures I read that I was lead to read was, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may know the will of God, that which is perfect and acceptable." My mind is my brain. It is where the demon was pulled out of. It is where he attacks me, other than physically. Is it possible these twitches, which are originating in my brain are God transforming my mind? I know it's an obserd thought, but I have to get to the bottom of it. The twitching is quite disturbing to me and I would also like the opinion of a neurologist. When I emailed Web MD, they did not send me to the neurologist like I requested, but rather to a psychiatrist probably because of the multi medications I was on. I hope you can help me.
I reached out to a psychiatrist but did not go into my spiritual experience except to say I had paranormal activity. He could not explain why it only happened when I was at rest, but because I said paranormal, he sent me to you. Hopefully, you can help. I don't really have the money, but when I had the full body surges it felt like spirits going through me. Well now the demon has been detached from me. That is a fact, but I am still having twitches and the fact that they are only happinging while I sleep, is the question. Even Mr. XXXXXXX the demonologist blamed my medicine, he had never heard of it.
Several neurological disorders may cause twitching.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Muscles twitching is mainly a symptom of neurological disorders, but also may be caused by drugs such side effects.
Neurological conditions that may be linked to twitching include multiple sclerosis, serotonin toxicity, dystonia, some forms of epilepsy, anxiety, dyskinesia etc.
These disorders should be considered when twitching becomes a prominent and widespread symptom.
Twitching caused by drugs use as a side effect usually doesn't last more than one month or two after the drug responsible for this is stopped and improves gradually.
All these conditions can cause twitching in different parts of the day and are not affected by body position.
Twitching when laying down before sleep and that happens occasionally is not necessarily related to any neurological disorders, it may happen in normal people and is known as hypnagogic (hypnic) jerks.
Another condition that may be linked to twitching when laying down is abnormal changes of the intracranial pressure in different body positions.
So, there are different possible neurological disorders that may cause twitching and need to be addressed.
I don't have any experience with spiritual cases of twitching.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards.
My PCP wants to do a nerve test, should I start there, what is a nerve test?
What causes change in you intercranial pressure? Is that a condition?
Tests are necessary to achieve a correct diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for being on follow up.
Tremors also indicate central nervous system involvement, so, conditions mentioned in our previous conversation should be taken into consideration.
Both, check up and follow up with a Neurologist is necessary.
A nerve conduction study evaluates nerve functionality and excludes or confirms conditions that may be suspected before imaging.
That is a good start about understanding better your condition.
Intracranial pressure is the pressure inside the skull and spinal cord.
Significant changes of this pressure may result in several symptoms including yours.
So there's a need to get yourself evaluated by a Neurologist.
Hope I helped you.
