Suggest Treatment For Severe Chest Discomfort

Question: Im having chest discomfort and along with that i get this kinda sharp pocks in my chest specially in my left side. Sometimes it feels like burning. Also my arms by the shoulder hurt when this goes on.

Hello Dear,

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

There can be many causes of chest pain. The symptoms mentioned by you are quite non specific and do not point towards any particular organ system or structure. Since you have not mentioned, I presume that there is no cough, fever, allergies, heart burn etc. However, since no chest pain should be ignored till fully investitaged esp in the age group that you are in, I suggest that you consult your PCP and get certain investigations like a cbc, blood sugar, lipid profile, ecg, xray chest and an echo done. In the meanwhile you may take a pain killer like a tyelenol for relief of pain and take adequate rest.
